- Because it was my dream country which has mesmerized me ever since my childhood. Why with a bike? - Because first I love to cycle, and second I had the time to switch my life from normal to extraordinary spent mostly on a bike seat and nature rolling next to me with 15km/h. I just got the urge to be just by myself, to ponder over my life, smile, cry, rejoice, embrace, listen, talk, meet, shake hands, taste, touch, discover. The way to India was like if I needed a ford to cross a vast river, and the ford was built for me by the characters of the book, everyone of them helping me to lift my spirits up, guiding me till the end to accomplish the passage safely.

It was as if God himself was within all people, sharing the same virtue - they were people of the heart, all of them expressing pure love to me. Their stories put me in the position of an observer, helping me to see my own life from a different angle.India as a final destination, was as a mother land awaiting its child return.I have accomplished the trip in 2005-2006, with the aim to work as a volunteer in a Tsunami reconstruction project in Tamil Nadu. I applied for the job because I wanted India to envelop me, and not to be the next tourist there.

I wanted to have a closer look at common peoples life and to be part of this very life. It was a spiritual for me path, every step of which cemented my belief in humanity and love.My book is a travel narrative, describing the daily routine of a lone cyclist with all of its ups and downs. The accent of the book though is not how to cover long miles with ease, but rather is focused on the people met during the trip, mixed with my own perception of the world, and what it is to be a human. The story jumps from country to country and person to person encompassed in heart-touching encounters.

There is no action, or spectacular scenery, or marvels of the world inside. The story evolves with the time spent in India, and the work done as a volunteer in Tamil Nadu. Every second I face the world with the words – Life is beautiful. The content of the book spreads on five main chapters, preface and prologue.

The chapters are called by the names of the countries crossed respectively – Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, India. There is an additional chapter about Karachi only, where I worked on another project in 2007. Most of the time I have tried to paint with words an image of the place described, been as accurate as possible, every account in the book has a real event behind.
